Rikant Pittie is surely going places. The EaseMyTrip co-founder has purchased a commercial property for Rs 99.34 crore in Gurugram’s Sector 32, documents accessed by CRE Matrix, a real estate data analytics firm, showed.
The sale deed was executed in Pittie’s name on November 24, 2023. Pittie paid a stamp duty of Rs 6.95 crore for the transaction, the documents showed.
According to the documents, the property sits on 4,050 square metres or 43,594 square feet (sq ft) and it is located near Rajiv Chowk in the Delhi satellite city. The built-up area is 1,00,429 sq ft.
The documents showed that the building is a commercial establishment with a ground-plus-two-floor layout.
The property belonged to Knaup Management Services Pvt Ltd.
There was no immediate response available from the seller or buyer.
Pittie had made the headlines earlier when he bought shared pictures of his Lamborghini Urus Perfomante on his LinkedIn profile in September 2023, claiming it to be India’s first owner of the SUV from the Italian marque.
Pittie and his brothers had started a travel company when he was only 16. In 2008 they transformed it into EaseMyTrip.com, an online travel start-up platform designed with end-users in mind.
Earlier this month EaseMyTrip was in the limelight when it had suspended all Maldives bookings on its website “in solidarity” with India amid the India-Maldives diplomatic row.
Big-ticket deals
This is the latest in a string of high-value property transactions in the Delhi-NCR region of late. In October 2023, an 11,000 sq ft apartment at The Camellias by DLF in Gurugram’s Golf Course Road was sold for more than Rs 100 crore in a resale.
In the same month, MakeMyTrip group CEO Rajesh Magow purchased a 6,428 sq ft apartment in DLF Magnolias, also in Gurugram, for Rs 33 crore while in a separate deal, Genpact chief human resources officer Piyush Mehta bought a 6,462 sq ft flat in the same complex for Rs 32.60 crore.
In August 2023, comedian and actor Bhuvan Bam had bought a bungalow in Greater Kailash-III in South Delhi for Rs 11 crore.
Similarly, Vasudha Rohatgi, wife of former attorney general of India Mukul Rohatgi, had in February 2023 bought a 2,100 square yard or 18,900 sq ft bungalow in Delhi’s tony Golf Links for Rs 160 crore.
In May 2023, Lenskart co-founder Peyush Bansal purchased a house in Neeti Bagh, an upmarket area, for Rs 18 crore.
